Ömer Suner becomes new CEO of Turkish Fintech Ozan | EGirişim | June 2020

As of June 2020, Ömer Suner has been appointed as the CEO and Executive Board Chairman of Ozan Payment Services and Electronic Money Inc., which set out to provide end-users and small and medium-sized enterprises with financial services.

Ömer Suner, one of Turkey’s most experienced names in the field of financial technologies, has been appointed as the CEO and Executive Board Chairman of Ozan Payment Services and Electronic Money Inc., which is preparing to make an assertive entry into the global arena starting from Turkey and offers financial solutions to end-users and small and medium-sized businesses under the Ozan brand.

Suner received his bachelor’s degree from Yıldız Technical University Department of Economics, and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Yeditepe University. He has also completed Stanford University’s “The Stanford-Endeavor Innovation and Growth” program. Starting his career in the Alternative Distribution Channels department of Turkish Economy Bank (TEB), Suner then joined and stayed with Samsung Electronics Turkey for many years as a senior manager responsible for the marketing of all product groups.

As of 2012, Suner acted as CEO and board member of ininal and iPara, which are among the leading enterprises in the field of financial technology in Turkey.

Suner is a founding member and board member of the Payment and Electronic Money Association (ÖDED) and a board member of the Financial Literacy & Inclusion Association (FODER). Ömer Suner is also a member of Endeavor Turkey and acts as a mentor within the initiative in order to support the active entrepreneurs selected for sustainable economic development.

“OZAN”, a new generation financial technologies (fintech) initiative, was established to provide end-users and small and medium-sized enterprises with financial services all over the world. Starting its operations in 2020 as a licensed institution under the supervision of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB), “OZAN” carries out all its R&D activities in Turkey. “OZAN”, which also has an e-money license from the UK-based Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) within the scope of Electronic Money Regulations (FRN 900482), offers end-users various services such as prepaid card, opening an account via mobile wallet, money transfer, contactless payment, payment of domestic and international bills, online gift cards and e-pins. In addition to these solutions, the company also aims to provide small and medium-sized enterprises with financial services with its Virtual POS and Mobile POS products.
